Team St.Hilda's were rewarded on Thursday 21/4, when our netball girls completed their East Zone Championships in style. The Senior girls came in 4th and did tremendously well making it to the top four of the competitive tournament, but it was their Juniors that clinched the East Zone Champions spot with a 23-11 win over their arch rivals Tanjong Katong Pri. Rivals apart, both schools share a mutual respect for each other as they have met on countless occassions in the finals in the last 5 years but Tanjong Katong has always had the stronger team.
The Juniors Girls did not have a easy time either with TKPS holding them to 4-4 and 7-7 in both the 1st two quarters. Subsequently, the girls pull away with a convincing win to seal the first ever Championship title for Mr Zanizam and his teachers.
The netball teachers were also grateful for the tremendous support from the pupils and staff who could make it to support even though we had a Founders' Day going on at the same time.
We are truly proud of the teams' achievements and hope they will go on to the Nationals to bring more glory back for the school.
